Who we are

Marketora is an independent product review publication operating at marketora.org. For privacy questions, write to editorial@marketora.org.

What this site does not do

Stating the negatives first, because they cover most of what people worry about:

• We do not sell products, so we never collect or process payment information.
• We do not operate user accounts, so there are no passwords or profiles held here.
• We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Information we collect

Information you give us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We keep that correspondence only as long as needed to deal with the matter and to maintain a record of corrections.

If you subscribe to a newsletter, we hold the email address you supply until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any message we send.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server log data including IP address, browser type, referring page and the time of your visit. This is used for security and to keep the site running.

We use website analytics to understand which articles are read and how people navigate the site. This tells us which articles need updating and which are not useful. We do not use it to identify individuals.

Cookies

This site is static and sets no cookies of its own for advertising or profiling.

Affiliate networks set cookies when you click through to a retailer, which is how a retailer knows the visit came from us and how commission is attributed. These are set by the retailer or the network, not by us, and are governed by their privacy policies. Blocking them in your browser will not change your price or stop you buying; it will only prevent the commission being attributed to Marketora.

You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Third parties

When you click an outbound link you leave this site and the destination's privacy policy applies. We have no control over what retailers collect, and we recommend reading their policies if that matters to you.

Web fonts on this site are served by Google Fonts, which receives a request from your browser when a page loads.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to processing, and to complain to a data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, write to editorial@marketora.org. Because we hold very little, most requests are straightforward to fulfil.

Children

This site is intended for adults making purchasing decisions and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date below. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page for a period after they take effect.
